Brief Introduction
Screw blower is a new type of blower. Its structure design principle is similar to that of screw compressor, while its design of suction and exhaust orifices is similar to that of roots blower. So compared with other gas compression machinery, screw blower is a kind of gas compression equipment which overcomes the shortcomings of roots blower and centrifugal blower, thus it has its unique advantages of continuous exhaust, no pulsation and surge, easy adjustment of exhaust volume and is able to compress mixed gas and gas with liquid drops both.
Basic Structure
Inside screw blower, a pair of meshing helical rotors are arranged in parallel. Generally, the rotor with convex teeth outside the pitch circle is called a male rotor; the rotor with concave teeth inside the pitch circle is called a female rotor. Generally, the male rotor is connected to the prime mover, and the male rotor drives the female rotor to rotate. Therefore, the male rotor is also called the active rotor and the female rotor is called the driven rotor. The ball bearing on the rotor on one hand, enables the rotor to be positioned in axial direction, on the other hand, bears the axial force in the blower. Similarly, the cylindrical roller bearing at both ends of the rotor enables the rotor to be positioned in radial direction, and bears the radial force in the blower. At both ends of the screw blower body, holes of certain shape and size are respectively opened. One for suction use, the other for exhaust use.
Working Principle
Similar to screw compressor, screw blower is a kind of rotary machinery with positive displacement. In the cylinder, two helical rotors are arranged in parallel, which rotate reversely and mesh with each other with a certain transmission ratio. A V-shaped sealed cogging space between two rotors and the engine body becomes smaller and smaller with the rotation of the rotors, and it moves from the suction port to the exhaust port during the whole process of suction, compression and exhaust.
